Artist Demonstrations

Demos are a great way to learn new techniques from a variety of very experienced artists, some of whom have even been featured on television.

Demonstrations are held once a month on Saturdays at Christ Church Parish Hall, Stockton Lane, York from 2pm - 4.30pm.

Demos are included in your membership fee and you can bring guests to the demonstrations at a cost of just £5.

A programme of artist demonstrations are outlined, when you renew your membership fee annually by 31 March.

Self-Help Group

Due to popular demand, the Self-Help groups are now operating once a month at St. Andrews Church Hall, Bishopthorpe on Saturdays from 9.30am - 3.30pm.

It’s a really enjoyable day; you have the opportunity to meet other members and get on with your own painting without any distractions from home. You can find out useful tips from the other members who experiment with a variety of different medium and they may even inspire you to try something new.

All the facilities are there including tables, chairs and a kitchen, so you just need to bring your packed lunch. Tea, coffee and biscuits are also provided by York Art Society.

Cost to members is just £6 which includes the cost of hire for the space and refreshments. Email yorkartsociety@yahoo.co.uk to find out the next available booking slot, or come to one of the demos.
